| NEWS FLASH:
Thanks to the efforts of David Sandy and Joe Bertuzzi of IBM, and Kirk DeWeese of Micro.com, IBM can now provide it's members with dial up internet access, complete with a magical themed e-mail address. You can learn more by going to www.micro.com or if you're ready you can use their Sign up page. You think life has got you down? No time left for magic? Read this essay from Ring Member Jamie G. In response to popular demand, we now have a RingMart mailing list for members and dealers alike. This is the place to shop for goodies or show off your wares. To write to the Ring2100 digest please use ring2100@ring2100.org Remember, this is a "members only" address. If you're not already on our roster you can't get in. Non members can send subscription requests to ringadmin@ring2100.org Along with your IBM number please include a brief bio describing your interest in magic. Mona Morrison has a photo page of magic events. Bookmark this site as it's bound to be an interesting place to visit again and again. Some of you have taken it upon yourselves to contribute to the Ring's expenses. I'd like to say "Thank You" to all of you. As an additional thank you, anyone who contributes $15 or more will receive a Ring 2100 mouse pad while supplies last. Write to Mike Durant for details on where to send contributions. Don't forget to include your "snail mail" address.

Diamond Jim Tyler
has posted his Ring Parade
contribution.
This is from his book Pocket full of Miracles. Thanks Jim for sharing
this with us!
MAGIC!Messages From Beyond the Web Long time Ring 2100 member, Tabby Crabb has made available on the web, a unique peek into the past. This is the father of all electronic magic communications, including the birthplace of Ring 2100. This is where Ring 2100 was born! James Marshall has written at length on his first experience with Restaurant Magic. There's something for everybody here, including some "in the trenches" looks at some of the more popular magic shop items. Ray Bedwell has been at it again! This time he's indexed Hugard's Hankerchief Magic and Vernon's Ultimate Secrets. Mike Durant is the keeper of our membership database. Please take a look and check that everything is current. You can e-mail changes directly from the Roster page. Jamie-G has generously contributed some of his creative magic to the Ring 2100 members. We have added it here on the web site. It uses the same password as the roster. Be sure to thank Jamie-G for all his efforts to promote brotherhood by sharing some of his original magic with us all. You will find the magic here

RingMart
In order to reduce advertising on our daily chat digest, we're opening up a new mail server dedicated to on-line shopping and advertising. This list can be use for Buy/Sell/Trade requests. Answers should be directed to the original poster, not back to the digest. This is an open list, meaning dealers and members can come and go at will without prequalification by the Ring Officers. This is open to members and dealers alike. You can either access it from e-mail at ringmart@ring2100.org or click here to log into our Web mail server.
There has been mention of charging for dealer ads. This is a possibility
also, but for now let's see how this works. If it becomes
increasingly time consuming due to heavy dealer activity, then a charge may
apply in the future.
There are some restrictions though. Since the new list uses the exact same
software that the regular digest uses, the same rules apply. No HTML or MIME formatting
is allowed. Text is the preferred (make that the only) format for
all advertising. This also means no photos or attachments.
Advertisers with large lists or photos should be prepared to direct members to a
Web site for that information. However, PLEASE don't abuse this redirection
guideline. This doesn't mean we want repeated announcements to visit your site.
This should only be used when there is a special item, new product, or other
compelling reason to visit your site over and above reasonable Web surfing.
Repeat postings for the same items will not be accepted. Not all members are as eager to buy as you are to sell, and not all members have unlimited internet
services, so as always, "Please be Kind."
Requests to be removed from the RingMart list will not be accepted on the daily digest.
Your first efforts should be to remove yourself, and instructions are clearly
posted how to do that. The RingMart digest is "moderated" to allow
some freedom for members and dealers, but at the same time give us the ability
to delete obvious "SPAM" messages from outsiders.
